Soya Chunks Cutlets Recipe, an easy cutlet recipe using soya chunks or meal maker. Confession time: this soya chunks cutlet recipeĀ is almost entirely flicked from my sister. She has always been better with her hands than me, so my cutlets look more rugged as compared to her chubby, smooth ones. I am guessing it tasted as good though because these cutlets did taste pretty great.

Soya Chunks Cutlets

If you are looking for a good vegetarian cutlet recipe, then this is the one, because soya chunks give a nice meatiness to the cutlets which is hard for vegetarians to come by. Even if you are not a huge fan of soya chunks, these may just turn you around because the infamous smell associated with soya chunks is absent in these cutlets and overall, these are healthier than meat / fish cutlets.

Note:

The amount of spices in the cutlet mixture can be adjusted to your taste. Since soya chunks are quite bland on their own, I always add spices generously.

An Indian lady who is the chief chef of her restaurant and who co-owns a spice shop, the likes of which I have not seen before, told me that she adds a couple of dessert spoons of vinegar to the soaking water of soya chunks to eliminate the smell. I tried it and it works.

i read the recipe in the morning. 2 people ,one of whom HATES soya chunks dropped in by 12.30pm for a chitchat. i quickly made 14 cutlets and served it hot with sauce and hot tea. all 14 cutlets vanished down 4 throats with everyone trying to guess if it was chicken or fish cutlets. silence is golden – eh?

Nags, i read your recipe yesterday morning, tried out in the afternoon as two people, one of whom HATES soya chunks dropped in for a visit. i followed your recipe to the 'T' making a small exception. i heated 2 tbs oil, dropped in the onions and the mix and stirred till i got a nice smell. rest was all the same. i served it with hot tea, spicy mint chutney and sauce. to my amzement 16 cutlets vanished down 3 throats. there was good deal of guessing as to whether it was fish cutlet or chicken……. silence is golden , eh?
