Perfect Diet Drink - Honey Lime Ginger Concoction

I am not too big on taking diets but occasionally I feel like I have put on weight or that my stomach is flabbier or one of those crazy things that girls feel all the time and men don't understand. During those times, here is a drink that has really worked for me.

Disclaimer * - Like my mom says it could be my imagination that I am losing weight when I take this but try it for a month, atleast, first thing in the morning (after brushing your teeth please!) and let me know the result.

You will need:

Warm bordering on hot water - 1.5 cups
Freshly squeezed lime juice - 1 tbsp
Freshly grated ginger - to taste (I add very little)
Honey - again, to taste, but not more than 2 tbsp

Mix well, and drink away.

  1. I've had this everyday for a long time... but I also went to the gym everyday... so I don't know which helped more :-)

But I still make it often and down a glass... for the yummy taste and the nostalgia above all else.

  3. Hi Naga, I have tried this too, but it never worked for me. My father gave me this recipe!:-) This can be modified for a honey-lime-ginger tea too. Add just a teeny weeny bit of tea powder and pounded ginger (1/4 tsp each-max) to boiling water, when it turns lukewarm add the honey, and squeeze a few drops of lime and gulp or sip!:-) R likes to add ice to it and have it as iced tea!

  4. I've heard about this but never really tried.. but I like everything that's going in so diet or not, it must be a nice thing to have. I just started having some warm water with a few drops of lime and pinch of salt based on my FIL's suggestion that it helped reduce colds..

  5. I used to have this minus ginger during my teens, as along with helping with weight control, it was also supposed to keep skin clear. Now it is just warm water and lime, but your concoction sounds much more yummy and if you say it also hepls weight problems, double whammy!!
