While my interesting in food photography started as a side effect of maintaining a food blog and all the amazing food pictures out there in the blogosphere, it soon became quite a passion for me. Some of these posts were created when I knew practically nothing about photography and was learning along with people who were looking for answers and quick tips like I was. Whatever photography I know is self-taught and that's really the best way to go if you are taking up food photography as a hobby. Before you browse through the topics, another reminder that some of the posts are now outdated. For instance, I use Lightroom 4 now for editing while I used to use Picasa. I do use it now and then for creating collages and adding watermark but Lightroom is definitely a much better editing tool.

searched for a sweet mango pickle recipe on google, and i landed up in your blog.. i am no great judge about photographs, so as a lay person i'd say they look exotic.. the recipes too.. the way you write makes them seem quite simple... ahem ahem!! will wait and see if its such a breeze for me too.. planning to be a frequent visitor over here, so that i can at least try to cook some of them... great blog..!!!

Great site. I dabble in photography and have been exposed to Canons from the film days. Not an expert though!

Here is a nice link that looks at Nikon vs Canon from a color Perspective. http://www.digitalphotographywriter.com/2010/07/jpeg-colors-nikon-canon-dslrs-color.html

One of the best Digital Photography sites I have come across:

Thank you for this! I just entered the wide world of food blogging and my food photography leaves much to be desired! My sister-in-law sent me the link to your blog and though, I've gone through a lot of web journals on the subject, yours seems to be the most comprehendible. I will soon be making that lightbox! Your food looks wonderful and I must say yummy. Thank you for the inspiration and the help.
