Small Vegetable Chopper

Chopping vegetables is probably the most frustrating part of the cooking process for me. Since I am quicker than TH in chopping, I take it on usually and never let go of a shortcut to get it done sooner.

Here's a cute little chopper that Sharmilee shared.

  2. Hi Sharmilee/Nags,

does this really chop onions, the way we can chop with knife, like fine chopped etc... ? Because I have tried a hamilton food processor, which had a very similar looking blade, i needed to cut onions in half and put them, and yet when i tried chopping them, it would make some parts small and leave some big chunks. Also when i struggled and did manage to get it all chopped small, it slashed them in such a way, that it became slightly watery.... so returned it.

    Thanks for the help!

  3. Hello SM,

    Here's the reply from Sharmilee:

Yes it does the way we do it with knife chopped very finely. I have tried onions, greens, carrots, coriander, cabbage,potatos...etc.I cut them into halves and put, it chops them finely.....Veggies used for poriyal, fries, pulavs, stir fry can be done with this chopper but not the ones for sambar as we need them big.
Here there is no switch/button seperately as it comes with many blenders cum choppers... the lid acts as switch so it chops as per the pressure we give on the lid. The size purely depends on the pressure we give.

Watery in the sense yes only for onions it leaves few drops as us say but that just evaporates by the time u refrigerate them...so have found no issues at all.
Additional Info: The blender blade which comes with this is best for beating eggs esp for omlettes and cakes....its comes out super fluffy!

  5. Hello Anon, I am not sure where you can get these small vegetable choppers in Hyderabad but I would check out the normal pots and pans shops that are dotted all over. If you go to the bigger stores like Lifestyle and stuff, you may not find these. Also, I am not sure if you will get the exact same brand in Hyd, Sharmilee got these from Chennai.
